A meeting of minds: Vega School and Orange Academy collaborate in Lagos

A collaboration and a celebration. That’s how the Strategic Brand Building workshop in Lagos, Nigeria, was described this week. It could not be a more apt description of the workshop, co-presented by two like-minded and enthusiastic educators, Orange Academy (Nigeria) and Vega School (South Africa).

The two schools, Orange and Vega, are mutually dedicated to training in strategic and creative problem-solving and delivered a hands-on workshop focused on brand and marketing strategy, identity design, contact planning and content marketing. The presenters included Lampe Omoyele, MD of Lucent Consulting, writer and designer Colin Morris, and Dr Carla Enslin, Head of Strategy at Vega. The marketing and communication professionals that attended the two-day workshop represented companies such as Tecno Mobile, Tiger Brands, Citibank and Nielsen Nigeria. The workshop also attracted a diverse set of entrepreneurs, brand activation companies and digital media strategists.

The CEO of Orange Academy, Chisom Ohuaka, also a published poet, described the workshop as a historical event and a celebration of the first of many future collaborations with Vega School. Carla Enslin elaborated that the two schools aim to offer repeats of the strategic brand building workshop in Lagos, but also plan to extend the workshop series to share collective strengths in the training of design thinking, concept development and creative writing.  In keeping with the industrious spirit of the recent Strategic Brand Building workshop, future offerings will also showcase the strategic models and creative methods implemented by innovative brand leaders on the African continent.
